The Utrecht dining table as shown is made of Barnwood. Barnwood is a coniferous wood type with a robust appearance and a unique character. The wood has served as cladding in old barns. In addition to Barnwood, the table is also available in old and new oak.
Old oak - as our name suggests; We are known for our dining tables made of Old Wood. At Oldwood we prefer to use old materials and give these materials a second life. That is why most oak dining tables in our showroom are made from European old oak. Old oak has a lived-in rustic appearance. A table made of old oak is the most sustainable choice; the old oak table tops are sawn from old beams that have served as construction in old farms. Old oak is a very strong type of wood and lasts indefinitely.
New oak - would you prefer a sleeker and flat table top? Then new oak is the best choice. We only use FSC European approved oak wood. New oak has a lighter color compared to old oak and often has a number of knots and cracks in the leaf. We can fill these knots and cracks.
Table top finish - Matte lacquer is the most common and user-friendly finish. With a matte varnish, the oak retains its natural color and the wood appears untreated. A matte varnish protects the wood against moisture and dirt and the table can be wiped with a damp cloth. You can also choose to finish the table with an oil. However, maintenance is required from time to time. We have a wide choice of colors, below you will find a selection of the most popular colors. If the color you want is not listed here, please contact us and we will be happy to help you.
